Years of sun, decades of damage, one layered plan.

What it is

Sun damage describes the cumulative effect of years of UV exposure on the skin. The result includes sun spots, broken capillaries, uneven tone, surface texture changes, fine lines, and skin laxity.

Most clients don't realize the extent of their sun damage until they see specialized photos that show UV-related pigment beneath the surface. Treatment can repair much of what's visible and improve what isn't yet.

Why Patients Seek Treatment

Clients come in seeing the cumulative effect for the first time. They want their skin to read in line with how they feel. Often they're already practicing sun protection now and want to reverse what's already there.

01

What Causes It

Sun damage accumulates from every UV exposure over a lifetime.

The factors that matter most are total cumulative exposure (hours in sun across decades), childhood sunburns (early damage compounds), tanning bed use (concentrated UV), and lack of consistent SPF use through the teens and twenties.

Geography matters. Living in sun-intense regions, working outdoors, and certain hobbies accelerate damage. Genetics determine skin susceptibility.

02

Common Signs

The signs of sun damage layer over time. Sun spots appear. Broken capillaries develop around the nose and cheeks. Skin texture becomes rougher. Fine lines etch deeper. Overall tone becomes uneven. Skin laxity progresses.

Many clients see different signs at different times. Pigment changes often appear first. Texture changes follow. Laxity comes last.

03

Why It Changes Over Time

Sun damage typically becomes visible in the forties and fifties. Most of the damage was done decades earlier; the signs emerge only when the skin's capacity to recover diminishes.

This is why clients in their twenties and thirties who protect their skin maintain remarkable clarity into their fifties. Prevention is the highest leverage move.

04

How It's Commonly Addressed

The industry approaches sun damage with layered modalities matched to specific signs.

BBL or IPL for pigment and vascular changes.

Halo or Moxi for texture, tone, and fine lines.

Topical regimens with retinoids and antioxidants for ongoing repair.

Microneedling and PRP for collagen stimulation.

How we approach sun damage

We map sun damage by sign. Each client has a different combination, and the treatment plan reflects that.

For pigment-dominant damage, BBL is the foundation. For texture-dominant damage, Halo or Moxi. For both, the combination delivers comprehensive results.

We layer in a medical-grade topical regimen with retinoids and antioxidants. The in-office treatments clear what's accumulated. The home regimen prevents new damage and supports ongoing repair.

Most clients see significant improvement in three to six months across three to five sessions.

I was truly blown away after my appointment here. Every single person I interacted with, from the front desk to the providers who handled my treatments, was incredible! They made me feel so welcomed and cared for, and were both informative and genuinely kind. The space itself is spotless, cozy, and easily the most inviting place I’ve ever been for Botox. Michelle did my Botox and she was amazing! I also had a hydrafacial and dermaplaning, and I already can’t wait to come back again and again. You will not regret booking here!
