The 1927nm wavelength is absorbed by water in the skin. The fractional pattern creates microscopic injury zones throughout the treatment area, leaving surrounding tissue intact. This triggers a healing response. Fresh skin replaces damaged surface cells, and pigment surfaces and sheds.
Treatment takes 30 minutes including numbing. You'll feel warmth and a prickly sensation during the pulses. Most patients describe it as tolerable.
Improvement is gradual and cumulative. The first session shows skin clarity within a week. By the third or fourth session, deeper pigment and texture changes are visible.
Your provider assesses your goals (prejuvenation, melasma, tone refinement) and discusses pre-care. One week of sun avoidance and five to seven days off retinol before treatment.
Topical numbing for thirty minutes before treatment. The 1927nm fractional laser passes over the treated area. Sessions run thirty to forty-five minutes including numbing.
Day one: pink, like a mild sunburn. Day two to five: fine sandpaper texture as the micro-treatment zones surface. Mineral makeup can cover the texture after twenty-four hours. SPF every day.
Tone refines and texture smooths as the laser-treated zones heal and rebuild. Each session compounds on the last. Most patients see meaningful change after the first session and refined results after the full series.
Most patients see best results from a series of three to four sessions spaced four weeks apart. Annual touch-up sessions maintain the result long-term.

Lasers work in series. We plan four to six sessions for most concerns and explain what each session contributes to the cumulative result.
We talk about what laser can and can't do upfront. For deep texture or significant laxity, we name the limits and discuss alternatives.
Tanned skin can't be safely treated. We pause for four to six weeks after sun exposure and require committed SPF use during the treatment series.
