BBL HEROic is Sciton's broadband light treatment, used to address brown spots, broken capillaries, redness, and the slow accumulation of sun damage. It works in a series, builds over months, and is the foundation of most skin-clarity protocols at RN Esthetics.
topical numbing optional
depends on sun exposure habits
pigment surfaces then sheds
redness and pigment shedding

BBL works by delivering specific wavelengths of light absorbed by pigment (brown spots) and hemoglobin (red vessels). The targeted chromophores absorb the energy, heat up, and either rise to the surface as small scabs that flake off (pigment) or get reabsorbed by the body (vessels).
Treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes. You'll feel warmth and quick rubber-band-snap sensations during the pulses. Many patients describe it as tolerable without numbing, though we offer it for the more sensitive areas.
The first session is often the most dramatic. Sun damage you didn't know was there often surfaces in the first 48 hours. Subsequent sessions refine and maintain. We sequence BBL with other treatments based on what your skin actually needs.
Your provider assesses your skin type, the depth of damage, and reviews pre-care. Two weeks of sun avoidance and five to seven days off retinol before treatment. We discuss what BBL will and won't do for your specific concerns.
Multiple wavelengths of broadband light delivered through a handpiece with contact cooling. Most patients describe it as warm pulses with brief snaps. Twenty to forty-five minutes depending on the area treated.
Mild redness and warmth for twenty-four to forty-eight hours. Pigmented spots darken first, then flake off naturally over five to seven days. SPF every day, no exceptions.
Clearer, more even skin emerges as the treated pigment sheds and vascular concerns resolve. Each session builds on the last. Most patients see meaningful results after one session and refined results after the full series.
Most patients see best results from a series of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. After the initial series, an annual touch-up maintains the result.
At RN Esthetics, every treatment starts with listening. We are Nurse Practitioners, RNs and Estheticians who treat every client as the hero of their own story.
BBL HEROic is priced per session, with bundles available for the typical 3-to-5-session series. Prices listed are starting points. The full series is calibrated at consultation based on your skin and goals.

"
BBL and laser work are where I've spent the most clinical depth. Coming from the ER taught me to be calm under skin that's reacting in real time. The reaction is normal. The plan is what matters. We protect what's healthy and stimulate what's tired.
"
Wrong wavelength on darker skin causes pigment damage. We use Nd:YAG for Fitzpatrick 4 through 6 and match every setting to your tone, not the protocol default.
Lasers work in series. We plan four to six sessions for most concerns and explain what each session contributes to the cumulative result.
We talk about what laser can and can't do upfront. For deep texture or significant laxity, we name the limits and discuss alternatives.
Tanned skin can't be safely treated. We pause for four to six weeks after sun exposure and require committed SPF use during the treatment series.
BBL HEROic targets pigment and redness. Sun spots, freckles, age spots, rosacea, broken capillaries, uneven tone. Multiple wavelengths in one session let us address pigment and vascular concerns at the same time. It's a photofacial, not a resurfacing laser. There's no peeling or downtime in the traditional sense.
Each location has its own character. All three share the same standard of care.
It depends on your Fitzpatrick skin type. BBL HEROic is safest for Fitzpatrick types I through III. For darker skin types (IV-VI), we typically recommend GentleMax Pro Plus with the Nd:YAG, which is designed to be safe for melanin-rich skin. Your provider assesses this in consultation.
Expect mild redness and warmth for twenty-four to forty-eight hours, similar to a mild sunburn. Pigmented spots will darken initially (the 'coffee grounds' look) and then flake off over five to seven days. The flaking is normal and shouldn't be rushed. SPF every day, no exceptions.
BBL is priced per session, with the cost varying by the area treated (full face, neck, chest, hands). Most patients see best results with a series of three sessions spaced four weeks apart. We don't quote pricing without seeing you because the right plan depends on your goals and the depth of damage.
Most patients describe it as a rubber band snap or a hot flash on the skin. We use cooling during treatment to minimize the sting. Each pulse is fast. The whole session runs twenty to forty-five minutes depending on the area.

Had my first blood draw today with it was INCREDIBLE!!! Also the front desk were all so pleasant especially Kelsie! I highly recommend RN Esthetics!!
I was truly blown away after my appointment here. Every single person I interacted with, from the front desk to the providers who handled my treatments, was incredible! They made me feel so welcomed and cared for, and were both informative and genuinely kind. The space itself is spotless, cozy, and easily the most inviting place I’ve ever been for Botox. Michelle did my Botox and she was amazing! I also had a hydrafacial and dermaplaning, and I already can’t wait to come back again and again. You will not regret booking here!
