Sclerotherapy is the gold-standard treatment for spider veins and small varicose veins on the legs. A solution is injected directly into the vein, which closes it and lets the body absorb it over weeks. It works where lasers can't fully reach, and is often the right call when the vein is too large for ClearV.
depending on area treated
new veins may form over time
veins clear gradually
compression for 2-7 days, no intense exercise

After mapping the vein pattern, a very fine needle is used to inject the sclerosing solution directly into the targeted vein. The agent damages the vein's inner lining, causing it to swell shut. Over 3 to 12 weeks, your body's lymphatic system clears the closed vein, and it disappears.
Most clients need two to four sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart to clear a leg area completely. Compression stockings worn for several days after each session significantly improve outcomes by helping the closed veins remain compressed during healing.
Sclerotherapy doesn't prevent new spider veins from forming. Genetics, pregnancy, hormones, and standing occupations all influence vein formation. Maintenance touch-ups every few years are common.
Your provider examines the veins to be treated, reviews your medical history, and maps out a plan. We discuss whether sclerotherapy alone, ClearV laser, or a combination is the right approach for the type and depth of your veins. No specific pre-care required beyond avoiding lotion on the legs the morning of treatment.
A sclerosant solution is injected directly into the target veins through a fine needle. Each vessel takes seconds; the full session runs thirty to forty-five minutes depending on how many vessels are treated. We fit compression hose before you leave.
Compression hose for the first one to two weeks. Walk daily, avoid hot baths and intense leg workouts for forty-eight hours. Some bruising and possible darkening at injection sites is normal. Avoid sun on the treated areas for two to four weeks.
Treated vessels gradually fade as your body reabsorbs them. Full resolution typically takes four to eight weeks. Some vessels resolve in a single session; some need a second treatment for complete clearance.
Most clients resolve their concerns in one to three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. New vessels can form over time, so some clients return for maintenance every one to three years.
At RN Esthetics, every treatment starts with listening. We are Nurse Practitioners, RNs and Estheticians who treat every client as the hero of their own story.

"
Sclerotherapy is methodical work. Each session clears what we can clear, then the body does the rest. Most clients need a few sessions to see legs they're happy with again. I tell people the truth about timeline. Patience is part of the plan.

Body skin is thicker, slower-healing, and has fewer follicles than facial skin. Settings, protocols, and timelines adjust accordingly.
Body work often addresses both aesthetic and functional concerns: vein discomfort, texture from weight change, sun damage from decades of exposure. We treat the full picture.
Body treatments typically need more sessions and longer recovery than face. We're upfront about timeline and what each session contributes.
For significant body contouring, surgical referral often produces better results than non-surgical treatment. We name that path clearly when appropriate.
Yes. The sclerosant solution collapses the vessel from the inside, and your body reabsorbs it over the following weeks. Treated vessels don't come back. What can happen is that new vessels develop over time from the same underlying causes (genetics, hormones, prolonged standing, pregnancy). Sclerotherapy treats what's visible. It doesn't prevent new vessels from forming.
Each location has its own character. All three share the same standard of care.
Different tools for different vessels. Sclerotherapy works best on small to medium spider veins and reticular veins on the legs, where the injection can reach the vessel directly. ClearV laser works best for very fine vessels (especially on the face), redness patterns, and rosacea, where the wavelength targets the vessel through the skin. For leg veins, many clients combine both: sclerotherapy for the deeper feeders and ClearV for the surface vessels too small for a needle.
Sclerotherapy is priced per session, with cost varying by the number and size of vessels treated. Most clients resolve their concerns in one to three sessions. We don't quote pricing without seeing you because the right plan depends on what's actually there.
Compression hose for one to two weeks. Light bruising at injection sites is common and resolves over a few days to a couple of weeks. Some clients develop temporary hyperpigmentation (darker spots) along treated vessels that fades over months. Walking daily helps recovery. Hot baths, saunas, and intense workouts get paused for the first forty-eight hours.
Mild stinging or burning during each injection, lasting a few seconds. The needle itself is very fine. Most clients tolerate sessions without numbing, though we can apply topical numbing for sensitive clients or larger sessions. The whole appointment is brief.

Had my first blood draw today with it was INCREDIBLE!!! Also the front desk were all so pleasant especially Kelsie! I highly recommend RN Esthetics!!
I was truly blown away after my appointment here. Every single person I interacted with, from the front desk to the providers who handled my treatments, was incredible! They made me feel so welcomed and cared for, and were both informative and genuinely kind. The space itself is spotless, cozy, and easily the most inviting place I’ve ever been for Botox. Michelle did my Botox and she was amazing! I also had a hydrafacial and dermaplaning, and I already can’t wait to come back again and again. You will not regret booking here!
