About this area

Why the hands age faster than most clients expect

Hands age faster than the face for three reasons. The skin is thinner. The exposure is constant. And the treatment that protects the face doesn't usually extend to the hands. By the forties and fifties, the hands often show decades the face hasn't.

Treatment combines volume restoration to plump the back of the hand, pigment work to address sun spots, and surface treatments to improve skin quality. The change is dramatic, and most clients don't realize how aged their hands look until they see the before-and-after.

Treatments for this area

Hand rejuvenation with filler, biostimulators, and laser

Three structural realities shape hand aging.

Skin on the back of the hand is thin and shows underlying anatomy readily.

Subcutaneous fat deflates with age, exposing veins and tendons that used to be hidden.

Sun exposure creates pigment changes and damages collagen at an accelerated rate.

Treatment plans address each layer.

How this changes over time

Restored hands match a restored face.

Hand changes accelerate in the forties and fifties. Volume loss exposes veins and tendons. Brown spots develop. Skin becomes thinner and more translucent. The cumulative effect can make hands look ten or fifteen years older than the face above them.

Sun exposure and weight changes drive the timeline. Clients who've lost significant weight quickly often see hand changes earlier.

In Your 20s

Hand changes in this decade are rare. Daily SPF and quality skincare extended to the hands are the most important preventive moves.

In Your 30s

Minor sun spots may begin to develop. Treatment is uncommon and usually focuses on prevention through consistent SPF.

In Your 40s

This is when most clients first notice their hands. Veins become more prominent. Brown spots accumulate. Treatment plans often start with one or two of the three modalities.

In Your 50s+

Significant hand aging is common. Treatment combines volume, pigment, and skin quality work for the most dramatic results.

How we treat the hands

Hand work usually starts with volume. Radiesse is our most common choice. We place it carefully on the back of the hand using a cannula technique that distributes product evenly without lumps. Most plans use one to two syringes per hand.

For pigment, BBL is highly effective for the brown spots that develop on the back of the hand. Two or three sessions typically clear most spots.

For long-term skin quality, Sculptra or microneedling builds collagen gradually. Most clients combine modalities for the most complete result.

I was truly blown away after my appointment here. Every single person I interacted with, from the front desk to the providers who handled my treatments, was incredible! They made me feel so welcomed and cared for, and were both informative and genuinely kind. The space itself is spotless, cozy, and easily the most inviting place I’ve ever been for Botox. Michelle did my Botox and she was amazing! I also had a hydrafacial and dermaplaning, and I already can’t wait to come back again and again. You will not regret booking here!
